If you’ve been into Shrewsbury shopping centres over the past couple of months, you may have noticed development works taking place on the ground floor of The Darwin in the unit that was previously QVC. If you’ve ever been into there, you will know that the unit is very large in size.

Shrewsbury is home to many wonderful independent businesses, run by people passionate about what they do. The shopping centres are no exception to this. With the redevelopment of the centres, it was decided that creating a unique space for independents to relocate and trade would be the best route for this empty unit, and so The Collective concept began.

The name, quite simply, was selected due to it being home to a collection of independent businesses. It has its own branding, image and Instagram, but is still very much a key part of the wider shopping centre.

We encourage shoppers to visit The Collective, explore the diverse range of businesses and meet the faces behind the shop fronts.

The Collective will be home to the following businesses:

Val B’s Wax – Val has previously been located in the Riverside Centre for a while now, so many of you will be familiar with her beautiful wax jewellery pieces.

Heavenly Brides – Suzanne has previously provided brides with beautiful wedding gowns and accessories for their special day in the Pride Hill Centre.

Tubeway Records – Also previously located in the Pride Hill Centre, Aden will be joining The Collective with a range of unique records and CD’s, both new and vintage.

Sydneys – Many people in Shrewsbury know and love Café Georgia in the Pride Hill Centre. Mel is relocating to The Collective and excitingly relaunching as Sydney’s. Mel says “I’m very proud and excited to be part of this exciting new venture. Sydneys will be a great place to relax and enjoy great fresh food, teas and coffee. Customers old and new will receive a warm welcome.”

DVD Megastore – For all of your entertainment needs, Estaban is relocating DVD Megastore to The Collective, along with 10,000+ DVDS, 5000+ boxsets and 2000+ games!

iRehab – Accidents happen, but luckily for people of Shrewsbury, Ben and iRehab are relocating from Pride Hill to The Collective. iRehab are specialists in mobile phone, tablet and Macbook / Macbook Pro / Macbook Air repairs.

Beauty & Nails Inbox – Ensuring your nails are always in shape and with a wide range of beauty services, Saima will be located in The Collective for you to visit.

Jennico – Selling a wide range of gorgeous House of Tweed items, Kevin is new to the shopping centre and has joined The Collective after a successful 2-month pop-up stint here.

We’re looking forwards to opening the doors to The Collective very soon and working with these fantastic businesses as they embark on this new venture with us.
